Router Setup Guide:Spark Smart Modem 3
Step-1: Connect the Router
(1) Turn off the modem (ONT): The modem refers to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), commonly known as the fibre box.
(2) Connect the modem (ONT) to the router's WAN (Internet) port using an Ethernet cable.
(3) Turn on the modem (ONT): Wait approximately 2 minutes for it to restart.
(4) Power on the router: Connect the router to a power source and switch it on.
Step-2: Access the Router
Option-1: Wired Connection:
Connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable via the router’s LAN port. Ensure your computer has an Ethernet port.
Option-2: Wireless Connection:
Locate the SSID (Wi-Fi name) and password printed on the label at the bottom of the router.
Step-3: Configure the Router
(1) Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and enter the default gateway address (e.g., 192.168.1.254).
Ensure your computer is connected to the router (via LAN or Wi-Fi).
(2) On the login page, enter the default credentials:
Username: admin | Password: admin
(3) Navigate to:
[Network] > [WAN]:
WAN Type: Ethernet WAN
(1) Click [Edit]
(2) PVC Settings
- WAN Connection Type: Automatic IP
- 802.1q Enable: No
- VLAN ID: 0 or -1
Step-4: Setup Completion
Once the above steps are done, your setup is complete.
Step-5: Test Internet Connection
Confirm the connection by browsing the internet or running a speed test.
