Router Setup Guide: Netgear Orbi RBR350 (using PC)
| Method: Using a computer or mobile device for router settings
Step-1. Connect the router
(1) Turn off the modem (ONT)
Note that the modem means the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) device, known as a fibre box.
(2) Connect the modem (ONT) to the router's WAN(Internet) port with an Ethernet cable.
(3) Turn on the modem (ONT), and then wait about 2 minutes for it to restart.
(4) Connect the power adapter to the router and turn on the router.
Step-2. Access the router
Option-1. Wired:
Connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable and join the router's local area network (LAN) port. The computer must have an Ethernet port.
Option-2. Wireless:
Way-1) Connect the router's WiFi network by scanning the QR code on your router with the camera app on your mobile device.
Way-2) Find and select the WiFi network on your WiFi-enabled computer or mobile device.
Step-3. Setup the router
(1) Open a web browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and type orbilogin.com.
Note that the computer or mobile device you use should be connected to the router via Wired (LAN port) or Wireless (Wi-Fi).
Note that you may see a page asking you to use the Orbi app.
If this happens, scroll down and look for a link such as “I don’t have a mobile device that is compatible with the Orbi app.”
Click the link to continue the setup using your web browser instead of the app.
(2) Enter the router admin username and password.
Note that the default username and password are admin/password.
(3) Select Internet on the BASIC tab or Internet Setup on the ADVANCED tab
- Internet Setup: Does your internet connection require a login? No
- Internet IP address: Get Dynamically from ISP
- Domain Name Server (DNS) Address: Get Automatically from ISP
- Router MAC Address: Use Default Address
(4) Go to ADVANCED tab to configure [VLAN / Bridge Settings]
- Ensure you untick [Enable VLAN/Bridge Setup] since our broadband service is untagged (no VLAN ID).
- Press Apply
(5) Select Wireless on the BASIC tab or Wireless Setup on the ADVANCED tab
- Create a WiFi name and password
Step-4. Setup is complete
Step-5. Check for the Firmware Update
Go to the ADVANCED tab, then navigate to Administration → Firmware Update.
Click the Check button to see if a firmware update is available.
If an update is available, please click Update All to install the latest firmware.
Step-6. Test internet connection
